Accreditation Decisions - Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs

Notice of the following accreditation and related decisions is provided to the U.S. Department of Education by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) following accreditation meetings.  Only those programs reviewed at the May 2014 Council meeting are listed.  Anyone interested in the accreditation status of all nurse anesthesia programs can find this information in the official List of Accredited Educational Programs.  The current issue of this publication also identifies programs with accredited CRNA completion degree programs.  Questions can be directed to the Council's office by contacting us at accreditation@coa.us.com or (847) 655-1160.

Allegheny School of Anesthesia, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Public Disclosure Statement
The Allegheny School of Anesthesia was granted continued accreditation for 10 years effective May 29, 2015.  The program was found in full compliance with the Standards for Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.  Given this action, the program will be scheduled for its next consideration of continued accreditation in Spring 2025.  The COA may change this to an earlier time as a result of new or additional information, changes in the activities of the program, or changes needed in the accreditation review schedule.

Department of Nurse Anesthesia Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing Samford University, Birmingham, Ala.
Public Disclosure Statement
The Department of Nurse Anesthesia Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing Samford University was granted continued accreditation for 10 years effective May 29, 2015.  The program was found in full compliance with the Standards for Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.  Given this action, the program will be scheduled for its next consideration of continued accreditation in Spring 2025.  The COA may change this to an earlier time as a result of new or additional information, changes in the activities of the program, or changes needed in the accreditation review schedule.

InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico Master of Science in Anesthesia, Arecibo, P.R.
Public Disclosure Statement
The InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico Master of Science in Anesthesia was granted continued accreditation for 6 years effective May 29, 2015.  The program was found in full compliance with the Standards for Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.  The program’s history of partial and/or noncompliance with the Standards was considered in the COA’s decision to grant six (6) years’ continued accreditation.  Given this action, the program will be scheduled for its next consideration of continued accreditation in Spring 2021.  The COA may change this to an earlier time as a result of new or additional information, changes in the activities of the program, or changes needed in the accreditation review schedule.

Minneapolis School of Anesthesia, St. Louis Park, Minn.
Public Disclosure Statement

The Rush University College of Nursing Nurse Anesthesia Program was granted continued accreditation for 10 years effective May 29, 2015.  The program was found in full compliance with the Standards for Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs – Practice Doctorate.  Given this action, the program will be scheduled for its next consideration of continued accreditation in Spring 2025.  The COA may change this to an earlier time as a result of new or additional information, changes in the activities of the program, or changes needed in the accreditation review schedule.

SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn Nurse Anesthesia Program, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Public Disclosure Statement
The SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn Nurse Anesthesia Program was granted continued accreditation for 2 years effective May 29, 2015.  Given this action, the program will be scheduled for its next consideration of continued accreditation in Spring 2017.  The COA may change this to an earlier time as a result of new or additional information, changes in the activities of the program, or changes needed in the accreditation review schedule.  The program must submit a progress report documenting actions taken to come into full compliance with criteria in the Standards for Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs related to Governance (Standard I), Resources (Standard II), Program of Study (Standard III), and Program Effectiveness (Standard IV).

Truman Medical Center School of Nurse Anesthesia, Kansas City, Mo.
Public Disclosure Statement
