Openings for New COA Directors

The COA is seeking nominations for one Public Representative. Candidates must be available to attend 3-day COA meetings, typically held in January, May and October.  The term of office for the Public Representative is three years, beginning Fall 2017 through Fall 2020.  The individual then would be eligible to be considered for reappointment to a second term.

Public Representative - Criteria

  • Holds one or more graduate degrees from an institution or institutions of higher education accredited by a regional accrediting agency.
  • Is able to represent the consumer's perspective and to act as an advocate for the public's interest within the context of Council activities. 
  • Demonstrates active involvement in his/her chosen profession and/or community service. 
  • Demonstrates no close association with any healthcare field.
    Is not:
    • An employee, member of the governing board, owner, shareholder, or consultant to any of the schools or programs that the COA reviews.
    • A member of any association or organization related to or associated with the COA.
    • A spouse, parent, child, or sibling of any of the individuals described above.
